ACQUISITION OF RENOWNED NJ ARCHITECT
GROWS FIRM’S PRESENCE IN NORTHEAST
LIVINGSTON, N.J.- Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engineers, Inc., in yet another
dramatic growth move, announced the acquisition of J. A. Mihalik Architect,
a prestigious architectural firm located in Livingston. Justin will join
Jarmel Kizel as a principal.
As one of New Jersey’s fastest growing full-service architecture and
engineering firms, this new venture will enable Jarmel Kizel to greatly
increase its presence throughout the Northeast, as well as expand its
services in various industry sectors including retail, public works,
mixed-use and multi-family. This acquisition is part of Jarmel Kizel’s
ongoing strategy of bringing the best resources and talent to the firm to
services its growing client base.
Matthew B. Jarmel, AIA, MBA, principal of Jarmel Kizel, stated, “We are

Justin A. Mihalik, AIA, NCARB, has been in private practice for ten years,
specializing in the design of residential, retail and commercial mixed-use
projects. He is also the incoming president to the Newark and Suburban
Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Mihalik’s responsibilities at Jarmel Kizel will include management of the
firm’s retail rollout studio, which specializes in the design of small
commercial buildings, retail strip centers and single tenant net lease
projects. He will also manage the roll-out studio for The Learning
Experience, a childcare and education facility which provides services for
children from six weeks of age through kindergarten, and intends to open
over 50 centers across the U.S. this year alone. In addition, Mr. Mihalik
will take on the responsibility of Principal-in-Charge of Operations. In
this capacity, he will be responsible for coordinating internal discipline
assignments between the firm’s architectural, interiors and engineering
studios as well as scheduling work and improving quality control and project
management systems.
